To help us to continue to help supporting families following the loss of a child this year we’ve assembled a team of fabulous runners who will be undertaking either the Manchester or Leeds 10K over the coming months.
In partnership with Child Bereavement UK, Elliot's Footprint fund a family bereavement specialist who can be there with a family from the moment tragedy strikes. It is a Statutory requirement that a Bereavement key worker to help families is in post. Sadly government cuts mean that although this should be provided and paid for by - it isn't and it is left to charities like Elliot's Footprint to fundraise the money to ensure this vital support continues. The runners have set a target of£4,500 which they hope to achieve to help us provide over 200 hours of one to one specialist bereavement support for one family.
The fundraising runners have already started their training and we’d love for you to financially support their efforts. We’ll be providing lots of training updates via this page and our social media pages too – so follow along and virtually cheer them on. We might even convince one or two of them to run in costume! . Reaching our fundraising target means we can ensure support is in place for families. A lifeline for many families, this support can and does make a difference towards families staying together, surviving siblings achieving at school and parents being able to remain in work.
