Exciting New Trustee Opportunities

Volunteer Trustee Opportunity

We’re looking for new trustees to join our board and help take Elliot’s footprint forward as we enter our tenth year. By joining us, you will make a real difference by helping to improve the counselling support bereaved families receive, raising awareness of the impact of losing a child unexpectedly, developing training for service providers and lobbying to ensure services and support for families in West Yorkshire is the best it can be.

Who we are

Founded in 2014, we're a charity that helps families through child bereavement. We offer help and guidance whilst campaigning and fundraising for improved bereavement services. We are working hard to take the loneliness and frustration out of the systems and processes that families face in the aftermath of losing a child.

Following on from a successful period helping the charity Forget Me Not establish their award winning Sudden Unexpected Death In Childhood (SUDIC) bereavement service, we are now partnering with Child Bereavement UK for a brand-new service in Leeds. Alongside this we will be launching a new and ambitious strategy, building on our work so far in delivering great services for families while also educating and creating awareness of sudden child bereavement. We are looking for new trustees to help guide the charity in this as we go forward.

Who we need

If you are interested in what Elliot’s Footprint does, then you are who we need.

After 10 years a valuable service to Elliot’s Footprint, some of our amazing trustees are now stepping down and so we have opportunities for volunteers in 2 roles. Which one is right for you?

Treasurer

We are looking for an experienced treasurer who has knowledge of the Charity sector. Elliot's Footprint is an incorporated Charity. Fundraising experience would also be welcomed.

Secretary

We are looking for someone who governance experience, good organisational skills and ideally a working knowledge of the Charity Commission.

Please do not be put off if you have no previous experience as a trustee. If you believe in what we do, we want to hear from you.

We are based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, but we don’t need you to be local to us as we meet remotely. These roles are volunteer positions, but we can pay any reasonable expenses if we do ask you to join us in person. In general, trustees need to commit to around 2 hours of work a month for each position.

How to apply

If you are interested in joining us at Elliot’s Footprint or would like to discuss this further, then please get in touch by emailing us on elliotsfootprintboard@gmail.com. We would love to hear why you are interested, what skills and experience you have to bring, and what you want out of the role. We will also invite you to an informal conversation with our chair and another trustee, which we can hold in person or online.
